Les Boys are now 10 months old.
Freddy weighs about 30lbs and can now crawl about 4 feet in front of him but only if there is a doughnut waiting for him, even if it is just a toy one. He can sit himself up and although he still prefers to roll or slide backwards he’s really solid and strong when he does get himself moving. Everything in its time with this guy, but if you’re late but will he let you know.
Jacques be nimble, Jacques be quick… Jacques be into absolutely anything. This little rocket is crawling circles around his brother and will even try to steal the odd plastic doughnut from him. He’s cheeky, curious and always happy to be around his sisters and brother. Sure he still weighs about 5 pounds less than Freddy, but he’s just about as tall and eats as much too.
Also this little guys can totally stand up now!
Hey 'Sup Dawg? Yeah it's my ride.
We went to a birthday party at a friend’s house this weekend and Les Boys really took to the red Little Tykes car that you have all surely seen in most backyards and day care centres across North America. But Freddy was having so much in the car that I just had to take some pics. Jacques on the other hand just slid right out of it and decided to have no more of it for the rest of day.
There are a few more pics right after this:
Tweeting with Les Boys
So we’ve been in Sunny Bournemouth for a couple of days now but Les Boys are still not accustomed to GMT. So we were up till about 1 AM Twittering and browsing through the new Facebook Lite. We’ll post some more pictures a little later, the weather is great and I’ve managed to drive the VW around town without any head collisions or turn right into oncoming traffic.
BTW if you want to use Facebook Lite: http://lite.facebook.com and are in the UK or Canada, you going to have to start spelling like a moron and drop your U’s and start using Z everywhere an S sounds hard as in: Colorize instead of the proper Colourise.
The weather was fantastic this weekend and Sunday was particularly sunny. I’ve been itching to get out on the bike for most of the summer and when Les Boys started to get a little restless, I packed’em into the Croozer, hitched it up and went for a very leisure stroll along Pointe-Claire’s Bord-du-Lac. Of Course I wasn’t wearing nearly enough spandex and lycra to meet the Lakeshore Sunday Cyclists Standards, but my cargo shorts and my vans did just fine and Les Boys looked fantastic in their Marvel T’s.
We took Les Boys to the Cap St-Jacques beach this Saturday and they really loved it. The whole family had a great time and if ever you looking for something to do on a sunny day in Montreal, this beach is a great little urban getaway. The beach has a very low gradual shelving so 25 meters out your still only waste deep. The sand is pretty soft and the lake bed is made up mostly of clay so it can feel a little funny underfoot, but it’s great for your skin. In fact many of the kids and women where applying the clay as mud packs for there legs and bellies. Funny enough no one was applying it to their face.
Jacques is reaching for and grabbing things and of course putting them in his mouth. This is very very amusing for us. He now weighs 10 and half pounds and spends a lot of time a wake keeping an eye on all of us.
Frédéric is piling on the pounds at almost 15 lbs and has also started taking swipes at the poor safari animals above his pram. He’s got good lungs and won’t hold back from telling Denise off when she’s a few minutes late with the feed.
Sadly our guests are soon leaving and Life with Twins will surely get exciting. Fred and Sandra have been such great help over the last 6 months, the house might not be any quieter but it will definitely fell very empty. We will surely miss them as we sip our last few cool pints on the deck.
We went for a walk to the park with Les Boys during the magical hour where the light just does some awesome stuff and makes almsot all pictures fantastic.
We also these guys hanging out in our local pool.
Les Boys are now 8 weeks old, 2 months old exactly! They had their two month check and are in perfect health.
Frédéric is now 12 lbs and 1/2 an ounce and 57.5 cm long
Jacques is now 9 lbs and 55.5cm long.
The weather was awesome on Sunday and the girls got to ride their bikes in the Parking lot across the street. As you can see, Chloé colour coordinated her ensemble for the occasion and without knowing it, Madeleine managed to get her jacket and helmet to match up as well getting her hoodie to match her boots. This summer should be a lot more fun on the bikes, Madeleine is getting pretty strong at kick starting the peddling, Chloé has finally mastered the foot and handbrake and is even getting into skids, Denise will be able to cycle again this as she’s back in her jeans and not pregnant. All we need to do now is put our hands on a used Chariot so we can get Les Boys in tow. Our current LittleTykes buggy is just too heavy and not very comfy for such young babies. Anybody feeling generous?
As usual, friends and family can view the full set on Flickr. If you’re not on my Friends list, just add JohnnyLeCanuck to your contact list.
Eric and I took the kids down to the parc while Chloe was with her tutor. After getting Les Boys bundled up and making sure their little monkey hats were pulled down tight over their ears, I grabbed the camera bag and a full cup of coffee and headed of to meet Eric. The girls had a great time plying on the swings and in the sandbox.Even in their snow suits, the sand is irresitable. Eric even managed to take some stunning macros pics with his point and shoot. We were both kind of questionning if this was even possible without and Aperture setting, but Eric powers of figuring out small Gadgets proved the theory possible.
So this is the stunner he took:
And this is the shot I took with my Pentax K200d in RAW with my manual 70-200mm Macro Zoom lens.
Ok so you can see that both shots have some and impressively shallow Depth of Field. Of course my shot was taken in RAW sor the colour capture is a little more vibrant and I was able to control the exposure a little better. But in truth, Eric’s shot is awesome and his composition using the Rule of Thirds is very impressive. So it just goes to show the camera does not make the shot, it’s still up to the eye.
On a seperate note, I am very proud to announce that Eric has officially joined the 2Fatdads.com crew and has already submitted his first article. Please take the time to read it here and have a party in his Comments.
